Homework

Homework refers to any work or activities undertaken by pupils outside of lesson time, either on their own or with support of parents and carers.

 

Reception

 

  • Reading daily.
  • Phonics sent out on a Friday.
  • Maths activity on a Friday. 

 

Year 1 

 

  • Children are encouraged to read everyday.
  • Phonics sent out on a Wednesday. 
  • Alternating weeks of literacy/numeracy given out on Wednesdays and to be returned by the following Monday.
  • Project homework when applicable. 

 

Year 2 

 

  • Children are encouraged to read everyday.
  • Spellings are handed out on a Friday and tested the following Friday.
  • Alternating weeks of literacy/numeracy given out on Wednesdays and to be returned by the following Monday.
  • Rockstars weekly. 
  • Project homework when applicable. 

 

Year 3 

 

  • Children are encouraged to read everyday.

  • Spellings given out on Friday and tested the following Friday.

  • Alternating weeks of numeracy/literacy given out on Fridays and to be returned by the following Wednesday.

  • Rockstars regularly.

  • Project homework when applicable. 

 

Year 4 

 

  • Children are encouraged to read everyday.

  • Spellings given out on Monday and tested the following Monday.

  • Alternating weeks of numeracy/literacy given out on Fridays and to be returned by the following Wednesday.

  • Rockstars regularly.

  • Project homework when applicable. 

 

Year 5 & 6

 

  • Children are encouraged to read everyday.

  • Spellings given out on Fridays and tested the following Wednesday.

  • Literacy activity given out on Fridays to be returned by the following Wednesday.

  • Numeracy given out on Fridays and to be returned by the following Wednesday.

  • Rockstars daily.

  • DoodleMaths 4 times a week for Year 5 & daily for Year 6.
