E-Safety
All members of the school community, including children, parents, staff and governors are required to sign an Acceptable Use Policy before accessing any school computer systems, including the internet. Our Computing curriculum includes lessons on E-safety and we offer guidance to parents via our website and parent workshops. The school also has digital leaders who assist with E-safety online safety across the school.

Safety online
An online Concern
The Momo challenge is a sinister 'challenge' that has been around for some time. It has recently resurfaced and once again has come to the attention of our school as an area of concern. It has been dubbed the 'suicide killer game' and has been heavily linked with apps such as Facebook, WhatsApp, YouTube, and most recently YouTube Kids. The school stongly advises that you are vigilant of what your child is accessing and are aware of what to do should your child access this challenge. Although we at Monkshouse pride ourselves on our staff and pupils' knowledge of E-Safety, we also acknowledge that it can be difficult to totally control what children access online. If you become aware that your child has seen the challenge, we would advise you to discuss it with them and reassure them that this is not only fake, but also how to deal with finding these videos in the future through the report and block features available on many online platforms.
Does your child use live streaming apps or sites? The LGfL website spreads the message about staying safe online to even the youngest children. Please look at the video and the song with your child to help protect them online. You can find the video and song on the LGfL website.
