Welcome to Robins Class

We are a Year 1 class taught by Miss Moscatiello.

I absolutely love my job and enjoy teaching and supporting your wonderful children each day.

I am passionate about inspiring a love of learning and helping every child reach their full potential. Most importantly I value building strong positive relationships and creating a happy safe and supportive classroom where children feel confident and excited to come to school.

Outside of school I am a busy mum to two children a boy and a girl and we also have a much loved dog who keeps us active. I enjoy spending time outdoors going for walks and exploring new places with my family.

I am very much looking forward to a fantastic year of learning growth and fun in Year 1!

What are we learning about this Term?

My History – Exploring the Past and Present

This term, the children are learning all about “My History.” They will explore how the past and present connect by thinking about their own memories, special events, and the people who are important to them. Through stories, discussions, and hands‑on activities, the children will begin to understand that they are already part of history.

What the children will be learning

• Personal memories: Talking about special moments in their lives and why they matter.
• Simple timelines: Using words such as before, after, then, and now to sequence events.
• Celebrations: Exploring different celebrations, what they mean, and why they are important to families and communities.
• Childhood past and present: Comparing what childhood is like today with what it was like for parents, grandparents, and people in the past.
• Creating a time capsule: To finish the topic, the children will create their own time capsule to show how they are making history right now.
