Ducklings

Welcome to Ducklings Class

PE and Forest day for Term 5 is:

TUESDAYS

We are a Reception class taught by Miss Frisby (EYFS Lead).

In Ducklings class we believe in learning through play and exploration. Learning, laughter, and adventure are always a priority for us as children begin their school journey. I love sharing stories and exploring new worlds together, helping imaginations grow through reading and play.

What are we learning about this Term?

Big, Bigger, Biggest

Growing Up and Changing

Children learn how humans grow from babies to adults and talk about the things they can do now that they couldn’t do before.

🐸🦋🐣 Life Cycles

The class explores how living things change by looking at the life cycles of frogs, butterflies and chicks. They compare each stage and notice similarities and differences.

🌦️ Seasons and Weather

Children learn about the four seasons, daily weather patterns and how weather affects what we wear and what happens in nature.

🌿 Planting and Growing

The children plant cress seeds and observe how they grow. They learn what plants need to stay healthy, such as water, light and warmth.

🌼 Parts of a Plant

Children name the main parts of a plant—roots, stem, leaves and flower—and learn what each part does.

🍎 Where Our Food Comes From

Children find out how food is grown and produced, learning that some foods come from plants and others from animals.
