Attendance
Regular attendance and punctuality are vital in order for children to reach their full potential. We aim to work with children and parents in promoting and celebrating good attendance and punctuality. On the first day of absence, please ring or get a message into school to let us know why your child is unable to attend. Days off school for shopping, birthdays etc are not allowed. The school Governors do not authorise holidays that are taken during term time.
Parents and carers are requested, wherever possible, to arrange routine medical & dental appointments outside of school hours. On the rare occasion this is not possible, or the appointment is urgent, we would ask that your child attends school beforehand and/or returns to school immediately after the appointment to minimise disruptions to your child’s education. Additionally, we kindly request that you provide school with evidence of the appointment which can be an appointment letter, email, or screenshot of a text message to enable us to authorise the absence.
It is important that your child arrives at school and is collected from school on time. When children are punctual for school it is more likely that they will be responsive and calm for the start of lessons. If children are late for school it can be worrying for them, as they know that they will be missing important work.
Parents must inform staff if somebody different is going to be collecting their child at the end of the day. In order to keep your child safe, we will not allow them to leave with a different person unless we have been informed.
