6B Ospreys - Mr Roberts' class
Welcome to our Class Blog!
Come check out our amazing journey of learning! Throughout the year, we will be updating the progress so please feel free to see what we're doing and how your child is getting on!
Class teacher: Mr Roberts
Teaching Assistant: Mrs Cruickshank
1:1 Teaching Assistant: Mrs Jones
Here are some fab links to help your child with their learning:
BBC Bitesize KS2
A good website which covers all subjects we teach throughout the year. I suggest this is your go-to website for understanding the vocabulary that is used in the curriculum.
DoodleMaths
We use DoodleMaths as our online homework for Maths. It's a great tool for children to learn a range of new skills, and this AI software changes difficulty levels depending on how they find the questions. A 10 minute, short, sharp approach works perfectly for this!
TT Rockstars
In school, we use Rockstars daily to support their knowledge of times tables 1st thing in the morning, along with an 8:45 challenge. They will either complete a Studio or a Garage!
Our Fabulous Learning Environment
All ready for terms 5 and 6. Bring on the Maya!
The Maya civilisation introduced some fascinating concepts to the world today. Let's learn about their culture, history and Mexico itself. Come join us on this exciting adventure!
08.03.22- Science Day
Year 6 got stuck into Science Day this year: they created their own experiments with a focus on levers, with some lovely discussion about the topic. We considered what would make a test a fair one - some future scientists in year 6!
30.03.22 - Smoothie Making
This term, the children used a wide selection of fruit and made their own smoothies! They showed off their slicing and chopping skills and the results were amazing! Well done guys!

30.03.22 Gardening
The children prepared their patch for the sweet peas (lots of raking involved in the snow!) and even made 'homes' for them. We look forward to seeing the progress of this next term!
31.03.22 Art Project
Inspired by our Artist El Anatsui, the children created their own piece using 'junk' from home! A huge thank you to parents for their support with this. Some lovely results on show here!
09.03.22 Orienteering
The children managed to include Orienteering into their reading work. They managed to order sequences of a story successfully, and even the weather managed to hold!
10.03.22 Maths fun in the sun!
Active Learning and Maths at its best: the children were challenged draw a range of shapes before scaling these up or down. Some lovely Maths work on display here!
06.05.22 Extreme number challenge
To prepare the children for next week's SATS, what better way of solving this masterpiece! Some great mental calculations on show today everyone!
