6B Ospreys

Welcome to our Class Blog!

Come check out our amazing journey of learning! Throughout the year, we will be updating the progress so please feel free to see what we're doing and how your child is getting on! We could be taking part in outdoor learning, sweating it out in PE or cracking on in lessons. Either way, come join us!

Mr Roberts (the badminton loving caffeine enthusiast) and Mrs Cruickshank (the Literacy/Grammar queen/fellow caffeine enthusiast) are here to make this year one to remember!

Throughout the year, we will be updating our progress so please check in to see how we're getting on!

Good links for helping your child at home:

BBC Bitesize KS2

A good website which covers all subjects we teach throughout the year. I suggest this is your go-to website for understanding the vocabulary that is used in the curriculum.

My Maths

We use My Maths as our online homework for Maths. It's a great tool to use as it demonstrates the steps the children can follow to complete tasks which is an overlooked aspect of the website. I recommend the children look through these steps before completing the homeworks I have set for them.

Maths Mastery at its best - with a future teacher in the class!

During Maths, we have been looking at area of shapes including composite rectilinear ones! Eloise managed to take on the role as teacher (and very well may I add) and explained this challenging problem clearly to the rest of the class! Fab job Eloise - very proud teacher!

Maths with a pinch of PE

We decided to take angles in Maths to a whole new level: SATS style questions relay race! The children worked very well together and managed to tackle a range of challenging questions. Top job guys!

Mindfulness Club work

Mr Roberts' Minfulness Club is in full swing! Ivy and Petya did such an amazing job with their 'APP colouring', I think it's worth sharing! To the rest of Year 6, feel free to pop in Wednesday lunch times.

Last term, the class wrote some AMAZING letters about polar bears. They went one step further and sent them to WWF, who decided to write back with free book marks! As a teacher, I'm extremely proud of you all for your hard work in this unit, and it's fantastic to see you get the recognition you deserve! Well done!

Mindfulness Club

Year 6 are taking part in Mindfulness club every Wednesday lunch time with Mr Roberts. They enjoy taking part in a range of relaxing APPS and websites before completing the session with a deep breathing focus! We hope to see more of you there!
